The Fraternitas Sacerdotalis Oratorii seeks to uphold the Catholic Faith, Apostolic Order, Orthodox Worship and Evangelical Witness of the Anglican tradition within the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church. We holds Holy Scripture and the ancient Creeds of the undivided Church as authentic and authoritative, and worships according to the traditional Liturgies of the Church. In the firm conviction that "we shall be saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ," and that "there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved," and acknowledging our duty to proclaim Christ's saving Truth to all peoples, nations and tongues, we declare our intention to hold fast the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Faith of God. We acknowledge that rule of faith laid down by St. Vincent of Lerins: "Let us hold that which has been believed everywhere, always and by all, for that is truly and properly Catholic." (From the Preface of the Affirmation of St. Louis).
The Fraternitas Sacerdotalis Oratorii (Priestly Fraternity of the Oratory of) is being named after blessed John Henry Newman, because he is our patron and spiritual father. As a priestly community we live the theological heritage and the proper spirituality of the English Oratory and follow the commandment: „Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation“ (Hebrews 13:7).
We are traditional and authentic catholic Anglicans. We hold to the original Anglican teachings, philosophy and theology as intended by the early Anglican Church. The Priests in the Fraternity of the Oratory are engaged in a multitude of ministries, from parish work to teaching, to youth ministry, Bible and theological study, serving as chaplains to various organisations, pastoral care in prisons, hospitals and other institutions, missionary work and much more.
